Archimedes is a free Autocad alternative, that open, saves and works with .arc and .xml files.
Is designed primarily for architects to create, through a simple and straight forward interface, different layouts for your projects.
Is developed by a group of people from Brazil (from University of Sao Paulo).
Some features includes a toolbar with all popular drawing tools such as line, arc, circle, insert text, rectangle, polyline, associate point with something else, copy/move/rotate selected elements, explode a polyline in multiple lines and more.
Allows zoom and undo/redo for actions.
It does not have all features of a paid program like Autocad, but is very fast and it can be used for basic projects.
