Debut Video Capture can capture almost anything from computer desktop and save as video file. Also, can capture video from webcam or external device that is connected to computer.
It supports full screen or custom area to be recorded, is capable of zoom in or highlight where mouse is clicking, record audio from computer and /or microphone (can record from both audio sources).
Other features includes adding time stamps or text, save photo screenshots from video or change color settings. It may be a good alternative to Camtasia Studio and is working on Windows and Mac.
