Free Download Manager (FDM) is a free program, first time released in 2004, that accelerate download speed and help end users to organize and manage their downloads.

Is able to resume downloads if they are stopped (e.g. broken internet connection), supports HTTP, FTP and Bittorrent. Is a good alternative to JDownloader.

Allows to download videos from internet, users can schedule all download activity, can scan automatically files with computer’s antivirus program and more.

Can be activated to detect or not, automatically, download for each web browser. So you can enable it to monitor Chrome, but disable it to monitor Internet Explorer and so on. It can be considered an equivalent of the more popular IDM (commercial).

All these features are available for free, there is not any paid upgrade.
