Initially made by PowerQuest company, Partition Magic was one of the most popular software to manage hard disk space and create new partitions. This product has been acquired by Symantec, but since 2009 is no longer developed or available.
This tool allow to create partitions and make different hard drives on user’s computer without loosing any data. Useful especially when you install a fresh Windows OS on your computer, you may keep it on disk C:, but is recommended to make a second partition where to keep personal files (pictures, documents etc.) and backup files. If your C: drive where is Windows, fails, you will reinstall Windows, but you will not loose files from another partitions.
Partition Magic is working with any type of hard drive format such as NTFS, FAT16/32.
